Abstract
This is a study of the operation and effectiveness of Casa Amparo a la Mujer, a residential home for girls in Reynosa, Mexico. The purpose is to (1) describe the economically impoverished environment in the border-town community of Reynosa, (2) explore the impact those surroundings have on the young girls trying to successfully develop without a home or family, and (3) examine how Casa Amparo a la Mujer provides caregiving to these girls that allows health development into young womanhood.
