Abstract
The synthesis of unsymmetrical bispyrimidines via coupling of a halopyrimidine and pyrimidine thiolate anion was investigated utilizing palladium (0) catalyzed crosscoupling. Specific parameters such as solvent and stoichiometry were explored and optimized. The reaction conditions presented have allowed for the preparation of a wide variety of functional pyrimidines.
