Abstract
Privatization has become a buzzword for state and local governments and the media in recent years. Newspapers and television discuss health care, managed care, and a continuous stream of questions and speculations on what the future holds for helping professions implement their services. In Michigan, one of the hot topics is privatization of the child welfare system. This paper will focus on the final stage of that system--the privatization of adoption services.
