Abstract
The home media picture twenty years from now will be quite different from what it is today. Changes in our society, technology, and environment will affect the needs of the people. To meet these new and changing needs the media which people use will have to change and/or take on a different role, Along with the present day media, such as television or newspapers, our in creasing technological abilities will provide us with new types of media which will be available for home use. The combination of some of the aspects of the older media and the new types of media is referred to as a single medium, the "home information utility".
