Abstract

Henrik Ibsen and Soren Kierkegaard would at first glance seem to have little in common, one being a nineteenth century Norwegian playwright, the other a nineteenth century Danish philosopher. But literature and philosophy have always had certain shared boundaries and between Ibsen and Kierkegaard many shared conclusions concerning the nature of humanity and what it means to be human were among these boundaries.
