Abstract
Over three hundred thousand children soldiers are exploited in armed conflicts in more than thirty countries around the world. Millions of children of both genders receive military training throughout the world. While most children soldiers are between the ages of fifteen and eighteen years old, the youngest soldier's age can drop to six or seven. According to UNICEF data, more than two million children have died as a direct result of armed conflict over the last decade, and at least six million children have been permanently disabled or seriously injured. In addition, more than one million have been orphaned or separated from their families.
