Abstract
For this research project I examine how the 'Develop the West Plan' has affected conditions in the following areas in the TAR: (1) agricultural production and yield; (2) employment composition of the TAR labor force; and finally (3) key economic indicators including Gross Domestic Product (GDP), infrastructure investment and progress, investment in fixed assets, business revenue, and tourism. It is my goal that by looking at these areas, one can gain a better understanding of how the 'Plan' has been implemented in the TAR, and to determine if the program has been beneficial in Tibet.
