Abstract
America is a nation connected to the whole world. This is the reality. The globalization of education and an understanding of peace by citizens is a need in the increasingly evident global society of the present and even more so the future. Such a need can be addressed and fostered in the schools attended by the children who are the future generations of citizens. This requires a reform in education, beginning with the training and mind-set of teachers. It is with their broadened preparations that they can then empower students, especially through artistic expression, with the international knowledge and skills and attitudes of peace necessary to help create a safe world and strive for a more sustainable earth.
