Abstract

Bio: Robin Sarkar is chief information officer for Lakeland Health, a non-profit, community-owned health system, which includes three hospitals, an outpatient surgery center, a cancer center, rehabilitation centers, long-term care, hospice, home care services and physician practices. Prior to his time at Lakeland Health, Sarkar served as director of Global Information Systems and the program leader at Whirlpool Corporation USA.

Abstract: Lakeland Health is a non-profit, community-owned health system, which includes three hospitals, an outpatient surgery center, a cancer center, rehabilitation centers, long-term care, hospice, home care services, and physician practices. Lakeland has over 3,800 employees who provide clinical and support services at locations throughout southwest Michigan, and partners with more than 500 affiliated physicians and other providers. Lakeland Health is HIMMS Stage 7 certified and, in 2014, received the prestigious HIMSS Nicholas E. Davies Award of Excellence which recognizes outstanding achievement of organizations who have utilized information technology to improve patient outcomes while achieving return on investment.
