Abstract
The South Vietnamese armed force was one of the largest and well-equipped armed forces in the world, yet less than two months after the Communists opened their final offensive the whole South Vietnamese armed forces disintegrated. Consequently, this led to the fall of South Vietnam in 1975. This study attempts to analyze the weaknesses of the South Vietnamese armed forces relating to organization, personnel (officers and recruits), training, armaments, and the utilization of American aid. Overall, this study suggests that because of the weaknesses of the South Vietnamese armed forces, they were unable to defend South Vietnam from falling to the Communists.
