Abstract
A person becomes the individual he or she is, at least partially, because of circumstances encountered. What Dr. LeRoi Ronald Ray, Jr. remembers from his earliest youth and up to the present time has influenced his beliefs and outlook. Those remembrances, concentrating on his experiences as a black American male in a changing United States history, are presented and contemplated in this report along with corresponding United States history facts. A conclusion of this report is that need still exists for continuing efforts to bring the ideals of American Democracy into a more perfect practice.
