Abstract
The study of the organizational administration of the council system and its relating subsystems at Muskegon Community College, Muskegon, Michigan, was undertaken to complete the requirements of the Specialist in Education degree through the Department of Educational Leadership at Western Michigan University.
The internship was conducted on a part-time basis from October 1984 through October 1985. The duration of the internship was conducted to analyze the organizational council system throughout an extended 12-month period. The review utilized council meetings; administrative staff meetings; board of trustee meetings; and personal interviews with staff, volunteers, students, and alumni, in addition to a review of the literature, board and administrative policies and procedures, administrative memoranda, meeting minutes, and various communication vehicles used at the college.
