Abstract
Chapter I
The Fourth Congressional District, located in the south-western part of the state of Michigan, is composed of the following six counties: Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph, and Van Buren. This district is largely rural in its composition. The county with the greatest population is Berrien. The population of the district by counties and the rural-urban characteristics of those counties is shown in Table I.
