Abstract
In a letter from Bishop Walkowiak of the Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids to members of the diocese, dated March 17th, 2020, he discusses the Catholic Church’s response to the State of Michigan’s stay-at-home order. Additionally, the holy time of Lent is discussed, along with how certain rituals and practices, such as mass, communion, confession, and prayer are to be adapted during the coronavirus pandemic. In his letter, Bishop Walkowiak describes the role of priests and daily mass despite no congregation being physically present.
