Abstract
This article discusses the reaction of Iowa religious leaders to Governor Kim Reynolds’ decision to lift restrictions on places of worship and gatherings. The article details the role Vice President Mike Pence played in the reopening process. The reservations held by many religious leaders about the reopening houses of worship amidst the COVID-19 pandemic is also discussed. The article features Evangelical pastor Calvin Swan, Rabbi David Kaufman of Temple B'nai Jeshurun, and Pastor Monte Knudsen of Faith Christian Outreach Church.
