Abstract
This article discusses the federal ruling involving Governor Gavin Newsom of California and the Cross Culture Christian Center led by Pastor Jonathan Duncan. The federal court ruled in favor of the Governor and the State of California, stating that the governor was in the right due to the coronavirus outbreak. Police had to break up a worship service due to the Cross Culture Christian Center not following the stay-at-home order and ban on large assemblies. This led to the lawsuit around religious freedom and constitutional rights.
