Abstract
This article details the detainment of and charges against eight British Muslims by the Indian government. The article discusses issues of religious persecution and the violation of COVID-19 restrictions on places of worship. The article features the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata party (BJP), the British Foreign Office, the Islamic organization Tablighi Jamaat, and one of the British Muslim men, Shamsul, an optometrist, being detained.
