Reflective Quote

It takes courage to commit to and participate in study abroad. Skills I used throughout my free time, include: self-reliance, confidence, communication, and patience through language barriers, decision making, money and time management, curiosity, exploration, practicing safety and abiding by cultural laws/traditions, negotiating, discovering similarities and differences in our cultures (USA doesn’t use bartering but we do have stalls and shops set up for tourists), flexibility and adaptability (to engage with people all day and share a space with someone at night), and taking risks, to name a few. Even through experiencing the day-to-day in a new environment you are using and strengthening skills that are beneficial for your personal, academic, and/or professional future.
