Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between intonation in oral reading and reading comprehension measured by the close procedure. Subjects were 54 Blqack West Indies college students at the College of the Virgin Islands (1978-79), St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, who were United States Virgin Islanders.
