What is DARDOSIPCAT?
DARDOSIPCAT is a linguistic archive, a place that permanently stores language resources such as digital recordings and transcriptions for people to download and study. This archive is dedicated to Spanish language resources from the Països Catalans.
What kinds of resources are in DARDOSIPCAT and can I download them?
Sometime in July of 2026, 103 MP3 audio recordings and PDF transcriptions corresponding to sociolinguistic interviews from 1995 and 2017 will be made available for download. These interviews were part of a longitudinal research project concerning the Spanish spoken in and around Barcelona by members of The Generation of 1995, the first generation of Catalans ever educated in their heritage language to grow up in a democratic Spain. The interviews, which were conducted primarily in Spanish with some discourse in Catalan, focus on language and society in contemporary Catalonia in each time period.
Accessing DARDOSIPCAT resources will require an authorized DARDOSIPCAT user account, which interested visitors can request by submitting a Terms & Conditions form (coming soon).
