Abstract
I did not work my way through college. I am a student now and have been a student for the past sixteen years. Having been fortunate enough to have parents who felt my education was of top order priority and an undergraduate advisor who encouraged me to apply for assistantships and scholarships, it was never absolutely essential for me to work. In order to help as much as I could, however, I worked in the dorm cafeterias and each summer I took jobs in factories, the only place I could find employment for those few brief months of vacation. I have, therefore, had some experience in the work force and it was in one of the factories that I first started to think seriously about discrimination against women in employment.
