Description
The purpose of the Crusades in France and Occitania Project has been, traditionally, to emphasize the importance of looking at the contextual relationship of local religious practice, culture, administration, power dynamics, etc. in the region of what is largely modern-day France when exploring the Crusades. These three sessions will continue that mission, but will be expanding it, not only to include the rest of Western Europe but, crucially, also the context of the Levantine world the crusades embarked on.
